Just as stock markets are about to finish their words month of September in the past decade, Bitcoin is refusing to budge or to let go of it’s strong support around the $10,000 mark. At the time of writing, it is trading near the $10,700 mark.

With the US dollar strengthening and a growing decoupling from that other safe haven, gold, one might assume that Bitcoin would have dropped as well. It didn’t, which has some analysts baffled.

Explanation

Jack Dorsey, the founder of Twitter and CEO of Square, might have come up with a possible explanation.

During an interview for the Oslo Freedom Forum, Jack Dorsey spoke positively of the best known cryptocurrency, saying:

The whole spirit of Bitcoin, for instance, is to provide a trusted system in a distrusted environment, which is the internet.

Blockchain and Bitcoin point to a future, and point to a world, where content exists forever, where it’s permanent, where it doesn’t go away, where it exists forever on every single node that’s connected to it.

His comments will be seen as reassuring to many crypto fans on Twitter. Although other social media platforms have sometimes taken a hostile stand against crypto, Twitter remains open and inviting. Even as Bitcoin had gone through quite the scandal on that social media platform because of the infamous Twitter Bitcoin scam of 15 July. The event has its own Wikipedia page by now.

Asked about the improved security features on his site, Dorsey stated:

I fundamentally believe that security is not something that can ever be perfected. It’s a constant push to be 10 steps ahead of your attackers.
