Hawk Tuah girl disappears from social media after memecoin rug-pull

Last Updated on 11 December 2024 by CryptoTips.eu

On the same day that Bitcoin traded above $100.00 for the first time ever, Hailey Welch, aka the “Hawk Tuah” girl, launched her own memecoin called “Hawk.” It shot 900% higher in the first few minutes after launch and then crashed down 95%. A classic rug-pull graph.

Several investors announced they would be taking legal action, and after a disastrous week of her team trying (unsuccessfully) to convince everyone this wasn’t a rug-pull, Hailey disappeared from social media and is no longer commenting on any crypto related topics.

Hawk

While Bitcoin, crypto and the global stock markets seem to be taking a brief pause in the early days of this week, the internet is mostly talking about the many investors who last week thought it would be a good idea to buy Hailey Welch’s memecoin Hawk.

Sites like 9gag, reddit and memedroid are full of memes making fun of these investors. Someone also launched a ‘Straight Tuah Prison’ coin.

Meanwhile, Hailey, who had been milking her 15 minutes of fame for a whole year, seems to have disappeared from social media sites altogether.

Her media team tried to convince everyone that the ‘Hawk’ memecoin could generate profits in the longer term, but a crypto researcher has now shown that it was precisely the members of Hailey’s media team who sold shortly after launch.

The American law firm ‘Burwick Law’ is urging investors who lost money due to the ‘Hawk’ rug pull to start a lawsuit.
