German police seizes 50,000 Bitcoins while AI token Render continues upward

Last Updated on 31 January 2024 by CryptoTips.eu

German police seized 50.000 Bitcoins yesterday in an investigation in the eastern state of Saxony. It is the largest seizure of crypto coins ever in Germany.

Meanwhile a poll among 2,000 Deutsche Bank customers showed that Europeans are more pessimistic about the further development of the Bitcoin price in 2024 than Americans. On the broader altcoin market we see that the AI token Render is once again reaching new heights. The small altcoin is steadily approaching its all-time high from 2021.

Illegal downloads

Yesterday, German police confiscated around 2 billion euros worth of Bitcoins from 2 people. It is the largest seizure of crypto coins ever in Germany. Apparently the criminals had been operating an illegal download site since 2013. No further details were released.

Last night at a trial in London it was also announced that the British police recently seized 1.4 billion pounds worth of Bitcoins.

More and more worldwide governments are thus becoming true crypto whales.

Crypto winter

A survey of around 2,000 customers of the international Deutsche Bank shows that crypto optimism is greater in the United States than in Western Europe. According to the bank’s customers, crypto winter may not be over yet. The pessimists were mainly tob e found in Europe.

We conducted a survey among 2,000 consumers in the US, the UK, and Europe, and despite bitcoin prices hovering above $40,000 for several weeks now, over one-third of our respondents still hold the belief that bitcoin prices will dip below $20,000 by the end of this year, said Deutsche Bank.

39% of participants believe that it will bitcoin will remain in existence in the coming years, while 42% anticipate its disappearance.

Bitcoin lost about 15% in the past few weeks during a ‘sell the news’ move that took place after the January 10th ETF approval so perhaps that explains the rather negative tone of the survey.

Render (RNDR)

‘3D visuals’ are the graphic images that you can see in the backgrounds of video games or in virtual worlds. They were in the news very often these past few years because of image generator Dall-E, the AI program that allows you to convert text into an image with a computer.

One crypto token linked to this new technology is the Render token. Render provides spare computer power to allow everyone to create such 3D visuals. Thanks to the interest in AI and 3D images, Render’s price increased explosively the past few months.

The last time we discussed the Render token was at the end of december. Back then it was trading at $5. Due to the ‘sell the news’ movement that took place in the crypto market in January, the coin’s price fell about 20%, just like Bitcoin.

By now, Render is booming again. Analysts believe it could regain its 2021 all-time high ($6) before the end of this year due to growing interest in AI. In the past week alone, Render’s price increased by 27%.

Render is available at Bitvavo and Bybit.
