For the first time in a long time since we’ve been putting out our daily market overview, Bitcoin does not carry the crown. Today the main place on the title belongs to Ether that has broken through the $3k range for the first time ever and hits a new all-time-high of $3,200.

As we’ve noted earlier this week, Ether’s 300% rise this year outshines Bitcoin which doubled in value. It comes as more and more analysts believe that Vitalik Buterin’s Ethereum blockchain is the crypto of the future. Analytics firm Fundstrat even gave it a $10k price target by the end of the year 2021.

Saturday Night Live

Further down the altcoin list, we note the strong showing of Uniswap this week as it is growing 13% today. Other altcoins like Waves, Ontology and Ethereum Classic are performing even better and rose 15%. Waves has a really good run and was also the winner of last week.

We should also note the fact that Dogecoin continues to grow, albeit at a slower pace than we’re used to. Showing up today at around 38 cents means the meme crypto has now refused to back down from its recent highs for more than two weeks.

It comes as people are counting down to Elon Musk’s appearance as host of Saturday Night Live next Saturday, the highly popular show on US television.

If Musk were indeed to perform a sketch providing crypto with a mass audience, it could boost market acceptance even further.
