Crypto crash and The Bitcoin Family gets an Amazon Prime series

Last Updated on 19 March 2024 by CryptoTips.eu

The crypto crash that started last week after Bitcoin touched a new all time high is still ongoing. Bitcoin briefly dropped to $64,500 this weekend and has fallen to $64,000 this morning. The support zone between $60,000 and $64,000 seems to be holding.

It was striking to see that Solana wasn’t affected by last week’s crypto setback after Bitcoin hit a new record and even reached the $200.

Didi Taihuttu is the ‘pater familias’ of the so-called ‘Bitcoin Family’, originally from the Netherlands. Their decision to sell everything they own in 2017 and invest in Bitcoin has provided them with a rather special lifestyle as well as worldwide fame. Amazon Prime has decided to make a series out of the family’s adventure of these past years.

Ethereum killer Solana

Many digital coins have long been referred to as so-called ‘Ethereum killers’, in other words coins that can take over Ether’s position in terms of speed, transaction costs and number of projects on the blockchain. I’m specifically thinking of Cardano and Polkadot for example.

However, in recent months it has become clear that only Solana is a real challenger to Ethereum. The favorite coin of Cathie Wood (CEO of Ark Invest) and Sam Bankman-Fried (former CEO of FTX) is doing exceptionally well during this bull run and rose back above $200 these past few days. The great interest of investors in memecoins that trade on the Solana blockchain is particularly beneficial.

Google Trends also clearly show that interest in the Solana crypto coin is higher than ever.

The Bitcoin Family Amazon Prime series

After approving a film about Razzlekhan (the wannabe rapper who plotted the 2016 Bitfinex hack), Amazon Prime is now also scheduling a series about Didi Taihuttu and his family, the so-called ‘Bitcoin Family’. They sold everything they had in 2017 and invested the entire amount in Bitcoin.

With Bitcoin hitting a new record last week, it was clearly a smart move. Amazon Prime thought it was interesting enough to make a series about the family. “All-in The Bitcoin Family” will first be shown in The Netherlands and Belgium in April. As from May it will become available globally as well.
