Bitcoin at $60k after assassination attempt on Donald Trump

Last Updated on 14 July 2024 by CryptoTips.eu

After the assassination attempt on Republican Presidential candidate Donald Trump last night, Bitcoin immediately rose noticeably. After it was announced this morning that he was medically fine, there was another small bounce. At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading close to $60,000 and was even trading above it.

This is because investors believe the largest digital currency is likely to benefit from the attack as it boosts Trump’s chances of becoming president again.

The memecoin MAGA is also reacting strongly.

Milwaukee

Donald Trump was injured after an attempt on his life during an election rally in Pennsylvania. According to his campaign team, he is doing well and will certainly participate in the Republican presidential convention that starts on Monday in Milwaukee.

Well-known crypto fans such as Michael van de Poppe responded overnight, claiming that Bitcoin has a political meaning from now on due to the events.

Pro-crypto

Immediately after the attack, the price of the largest digital currency rose 5% before giving up some of its gains.

This is because Donald Trump is seen as the pro-crypto candidate during the presidential elections.

Politifi coin MAGA shot up 20% immediately after the attack, but has since lost much of its gains.

Donald Trump would normally also speak at the Bitcoin2024 conference in Nashville later this month, although these events could make that uncertain.
